Al Roker has had a difficult few months, dealing with one health problem after another. Now it seems that the famous Today Show meteorologist has had another operation.

After being hospitalized for blood clots in his lungs and legs, Al Roker took a hiatus from his career as the Today Show’s renowned meteorologist. After weeks of therapy, he apparently returned to television screens throughout the nation with a clean bill of health.
However, it seems that the media celebrity is taking a vacation for health concerns once again. The 68-year-old had complete knee replacement surgery on Tuesday and is currently healing.
Roker posted a video of himself strolling gently in a hospital corridor after his operation to show his followers how he was doing. “Up and walking this morning on the [new knee] [step by step],” Roker said in the caption on Wednesday. In the message, he thanked his physicians and said that he was “wearing a negative pressure pump to help facilitate wound healing.” The Dire Straits song “Walk of Life” plays in the backdrop of the video.

He also shared a charming slideshow of him and his wife, ABC News writer Dorah Roberts, when she accompanied him to his hospital appointments in recent years, with the comment, “I’m thinking [Roberts and I] have GOT to stop meeting like this.”
“Yes. “And we will,” said his wife.
The ABC News journalist also posted photos of her husband’s most recent hospitalization and captioned them, “Wednesday wonder.” “Part 2 of my sweet [Roker’s] health journey,” Roberts wrote. “I am so grateful to [the] talented medical team for getting him back on his feet with a new knee and a new sense of confidence after such a major challenge. “Continuing with [grit, gratitude, and grace] All the kind wishes and prayers and the benefit of excellent health care have humbled me.”

The journalistic legend is doing well, but his most recent sickness was difficult. His wife, Roberts, informed the reporters at the time that her husband was in a “very, very critical” condition. She had been coping with one health catastrophe after another, which she described as “one of the most exhausting and difficult things I’ve ever had to deal with.” Roberts, 62 years old, has been married to Roker since 1995. The couple has two children: a girl named Leila and a boy named Nicholas.
While the ABC journalist expressed regret that her family had to go through this, she also learned something. She realized, “You can step up and do whatever you need to do.”

“After the crisis passed, my entire family almost collapsed,” she stated. “We didn’t realize the adrenaline rush of constantly running and gunning to look after him every day.” I didn’t realize how difficult it was until the fog began to lift and the dust began to settle. That’s when I discovered how difficult it was. “My goal was to get it done, get him well, and take care of him.”
In terms of his career, Roker says he has no intentions to retire and is “more passionate” about it than before.
Roker said that his father quit as a bus driver at the age of 55 because he no longer found it enjoyable. Working on the Today Show, on the other hand, has been and continues to be a tremendous experience for Roker. “I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to it,” he remarked. Every day is different, and our Today Show audience, staff, and producers… “How do you let go of something like this?”
We’re so happy to see Roker back on his feet. We wish him a fast recovery and hope to see him on our TV screens again soon! Share this Al Roker health update with your friends and family.
