Amanda Bynes, a former Nickelodeon actress, has revealed that she had a blepharoplasty treatment when fans began to notice her shifting appearance.

Bynes is a known face to millions of people across the world, having appeared in some iconic childhood favorites such as The Amanda Show and She’s the Man.

The actor’s most recent film credit was in 2010, when she co-starred in Easy A with Emma Stone, but she’s kept fans updated on her life via social media.

Bynes’ updates have inspired some followers to point out changes in her looks during her years in the spotlight, so she turned to Instagram yesterday (December 11) to reply to the remarks.

Bynes revealed on her Instagram Story that she had a blepharoplasty, a cosmetic treatment that removes extra skin or fat from the eyelids.

“I was never open about this before, but I actually had blepharoplasty surgery on the skinfolds and the corner of my eyes,” she stated. “So, I don’t have those skinfolds anymore.”

As she displayed the procedure’s outcomes, Bynes stated that it was “one of the best things” she could have done for her self-esteem.

“It made me feel a lot better in my skin, so I just wanted to post about that just to clear up that rumor as to why I have a new look,” she said.

“I feel much better about myself now, and I’m so glad I had blepharoplasty surgery.” It was one of the best things I’d ever done.”

The announcement of the treatment comes after Bynes was liberated from her mother’s nearly nine-year-long conservatorship in March.

“In the last several years, I have been working hard to improve my health so that I can live and work independently,” Bynes said in a statement to people following the judge’s decision to end the conservatorship. “I will continue to prioritize my well-being in this next chapter.”

Bynes’ disclosure elicited a wide range of reactions from fans, many of whom lambasted the comments that caused her to speak out in the first place.
