Anthony Mackie takes stand as the first Marvel actor to address Jonathan Majors’ arrest

Anthony Mackie, Marvel’s Captain America, Breaks Silence on Jonathan Majors’ Arrest

Anthony Mackie, known for his role as Marvel’s Captain America, has become the first star in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to address the arrest of Jonathan Majors, who faces multiple charges, including assault.

Following his arrest, Majors has filed a counterclaim against his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, asserting that she was the aggressor in the incident, not him. Jabbari alleges that Majors, known for his roles in Creed III and as Marvel’s Kang the Conqueror, caused her harm by breaking her finger, twisting her arm, and striking her.

With a trial scheduled to commence on August 3, Majors staunchly denies all allegations against him. Despite this, Marvel has remained silent on the matter, excluding Majors from promotional activities for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and omitting his name, as well as his character’s name, from the movie’s synopsis on Disney+.

Anthony Mackie recently addressed the situation, emphasizing the principle of ‘innocent until proven guilty’ in an interview with Inverse. He remarked, “Nothing has been proven about this dude. Nothing. So everyone is innocent until proven guilty. That’s all I can say.”

While Majors faces serious repercussions, such as being dropped from advertising campaigns and film projects, his legal team asserts his innocence and positions him as the victim. In response to the allegations, Majors’ lawyer released a statement detailing evidence supporting his innocence and urging the dismissal of charges against him.

As the legal proceedings unfold, both Majors and Jabbari await their day in court, seeking justice and resolution to the ongoing controversy.
