Back in 1983, 16-pound baby made big news. But you won’t believe how he looks now!

Flash back to 1983 when 24-year-old Patricia Clark anticipated the arrival of her second child. Aware of her family’s tendency for larger babies, she braced herself for a sizable newborn.

Yet, nothing could prepare her for the sheer magnitude of her son’s birth. Weighing over 16 pounds, Kevin Robert Clark not only secured the title of the largest baby born at Community Memorial Hospital but potentially held the record for New Jersey’s largest newborn at the time. Imagine the astonishment of welcoming a 16-pound bundle of joy!

While Kevin couldn’t snugly fit into a standard crib and his infant attire was dwarfed by his size, Patricia and her husband found solace in their son’s health. Meanwhile, Kevin’s extraordinary birth size made headlines nationwide, from a Saturday Night Live parody to a feature on Good Morning America.

Reported by the New York Post, Kevin reached 5-foot-7 by age 12 and skyrocketed to 6-foot-5 by junior high. And he didn’t stop there; he continued to tower over others as he grew older.

Despite the inherent physical and social hurdles of being exceptionally large, Kevin approaches life with humor. “Not a day goes by without someone asking about my height,” he shared with the Post. “I like to jest that I’m 5-foot-21.

And when folks inquire if I play basketball, I counter with a question about their miniature golf skills.”

Today, Kevin is an adult, a former military member who shares his life with his wife and their Great Dane — a fitting companion for him and his 6-foot-tall partner.
