Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter’s sister, Bobbie Jean Carter, died at 41, a year after Aaron Carter’s death

Bobbie Jean Carter, affectionately known as BJ and sister to renowned singers Nick and Aaron Carter, has passed away at the age of 41. Jane Carter, her mother, confirmed the family’s sorrow, delivering a poignant statement.

Expressing her grief, she conveyed, “I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean, and I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time.” Jane Carter also appealed for privacy to mourn and underscored the profound impact on Bobbie Jean’s eight-year-old daughter, Bella.

The tragic incident unfolded on a Saturday morning in Florida, although specific details surrounding the event remain unclear. Known as BJ to friends and family, she had played a role in the music industry.

During the height of her brothers’ fame, particularly Aaron’s, Bobbie Jean served as a wardrobe stylist and makeup artist. She also made appearances on the reality TV show “House of Carters,” featuring in eight episodes.

Subsequently, she led a life away from the spotlight, in contrast to her famous siblings. Presently, the surviving Carter siblings are Nick and Angel, with several half-siblings and step-siblings also part of the family.

It has been a year since the Carter family confronted the heartbreaking loss of Aaron Carter. Nick, Aaron’s brother and a member of the Backstreet Boys, shared that the family is still grappling with the tragedy.

In a candid reflection, he remarked, “It’s definitely been tough for me and my family. It is still something that we are still processing, to this day.” The singer discussed the ongoing struggle to overcome such a profound loss, indicating the family’s collective challenge.

Aaron was discovered deceased in his Lancaster, California home on November 5, at the age of 34. His body was found in the bathtub, with prescription pills and drug paraphernalia present in his bedroom, according to police reports.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner disclosed that his demise resulted from drowning after inhaling difluoroethane and consuming alprazolam.

Nick expressed a desire to navigate a meaningful path forward, stating, “I don’t think we will ever really get over it. It’s been a lot for us, and we are finding ways to try and take a really tragic situation in our family and do something with it.”

The recent loss of Bobbie Jean compounds the family’s grief, creating an especially challenging period for the Carters.
