Because of a “painful” ankle injury, Johnny Depp’s band, Hollywood Vampires, had to cancel three tour performances

Hollywood Vampires, Johnny Depp’s band, said on Sunday that they were canceling three US tour dates because Depp “sustained a painful injury to his ankle following his recent appearances and has been advised by his doctor not to travel,” according to a statement posted on the band’s Instagram page.

The band has rescheduled its shows for May 30 in Boston, May 31 in Manchester, New Hampshire, and June 1 in Bethel, New York.

The Hollywood Vampires said on Instagram that they are “sad” to have to postpone the three gigs and that Depp is “devastated by this turn of events but looks forward to resting up so that all four Vampires can bring their absolute best to the tour in Europe.”

The gigs have been rescheduled for July 28, July 29, and July 30, according to the band’s website. The band stated that already-purchased tickets for the new dates will be honored.

The band will perform in Europe beginning on June 8 in Bucharest, Romania, and ending on July 23 in Wolfsburg, Germany, right before the rescheduled US performances.

Depp, Joe Perry, Alice Cooper, and Tommy Henricksen star in the 2012 film Hollywood Vampires.
