Patrick Conley is the antithesis of how most people would react to a family of bears stopping on their doorstep. Patrick launched a YouTube channel to document the many species of wildlife that frequently stop by his home near Asheville, North Carolina. Patrick had watched a bear named Simone grow from a baby to an adult bear over the last few years, and on one of her most recent trips, she delivered a surprise.

Since Patrick hadn’t seen Simone in a while, he was both thrilled and surprised when she strolled into his land with her very first litter of cubs! Simone and her cubs emerged from the jungle and approached Patrick’s porch directly. One of the sweetest things I’ve recently seen was the young cubs peeking over the porch corner.

It’s vital to keep in mind that Simone has been under Patrick’s observation for years, so she probably feels at ease around him and his property. He never approaches them directly, though, and makes no effort to tame them. Under no circumstances should you approach a wild bear, particularly if there are cubs around. Let’s keep nature untamed, as that is how it was meant to be. We appreciate Patrick providing this sweet window into Simone’s life with her brand-new cubs!
