I become upset when I think of those who would harm animals or even abandon them to die. But, thankfully, there are also heroes out there. And two people I’d want to thank in particular are Bret Winingar and his son, Zach…
Bret and Zach were riding their motorcycles through the back roads of Little Rock, Arkansas, when they came across an old dog carrier.

Their interest peaked, so they decided to take a closer look. Inside, there was a badly starving dog.
The container was filthy, and the dog had eaten a hole in it in an apparent attempt to release herself.

The father and son temporarily abandoned the dog. And then I returned in a vehicle with dog food and water.
Bret and Zach nicknamed her Charlie Bravo.

Before they arrived home, the dog began to express her gratitude to her rescuers.
Bret and Zach began by trimming Charlie Bravo’s claws. They had grown so long during her confinement that they curled inward, making walking difficult for the dog.
Then it was time to take a bath.
They then brought Charlie to the veterinarian.

She was around eight months old, according to the vet. The vet estimated that Charlie had been in the carrier for a long period based on the lesions on her body.
Charlie Bravo’s tale went viral on Facebook. Bret and Zach quickly began receiving donations from compassionate people who wanted to contribute to Charlie’s veterinary expenses.
Bret and his family donated the remaining funds to other animal organizations and established a new foundation for rescued animals named “Charlie’s Angels.”

Bret, who hadn’t even considered keeping Charlie, couldn’t bring himself to give the puppy away. Bret and his family have acquired three more rescued dogs since saving Charlie.
If you’d like to praise these heroes for saving the life of a loving puppy, please share!
We adore animals and believe in treating them with the highest care at The Animal Club.
