Billie Lourd attended Carrie Fisher’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony dressed as Princess Leia

Billie Lourd paid homage to Carrie Fisher on Thursday with a bespoke gown.

On May 4, which is known as “Star Wars” Day among followers of George Lucas’ world, Fisher was honored with a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Lourd collected the prize on behalf of her late mother.

Debbie Reynolds died just two days after Fisher died on December 27, 2016.

Fisher was most remembered for her role as Princess Leia in “Star Wars,” and Lourd co-starred with her in “Star Wars:

The Force Awakens” before her death. So it seemed only right that Lourd wears a “Star Wars”-themed gown to the wedding.

According to Rodarte’s Instagram, Lourd donned a handcrafted Rodarte gown at the wedding.

Rodarte debuted a “Star Wars”-inspired gown collection in 2014, and the brand stated in a blog post that Lourd’s outfit was an addition to it.

The bodice was black and glittery, with a V-neckline that knotted in the center and produced a circle cutout. The skirt was embossed with a portrait of Fisher in costume as Princess Leia, and the garment cinched just under Lourd’s breast.

Lourd accessorized her ensemble with drop earrings, open-toed shoes, and diamonds on her eyes.

Lourd’s nails were also decorated to celebrate “Star Wars,” with some of them painted black and ornamented with stars.

Her middle fingers were decorated with illustrations: one with a depiction of Princess Leia’s face and the other with the starbird emblem used by the rebels in the movie.

Jamie Mizrahi was the stylist for Lourd’s adorable and whimsical outfit.

Lourd attended the event with Fisher’s “Star Wars” co-star Mark Hamill, as well as the film series droids, C-3PO and R2-D2.

In 2018, Hamill requested “Star Wars” fans lobby for Fisher to get her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame sooner rather than later, as he wanted her to have one by the time “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” was published.

During the ceremony, Lourd’s father, Bryan Lourd, and her husband, Austen Rydell, were also present.

Lourd confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that she did not invite Fisher’s siblings to the wedding after Fisher’s siblings contacted TMZ about Lourd’s choice.

“Days after my mother died, her brother and sister opted to publicly express their sorrow and monetize my mother’s loss by conducting many interviews and selling separate books for a lot of money, with my mother and grandmother’s deaths as the subject,” Lourd said in a statement.

“I found out about it from the news.” “They never consulted me or considered the impact on our relationship,” she continued. “While I acknowledge they have the right to do whatever they want, their actions were extremely painful to me during a very tough moment in my life.” I decided, and continue to choose, to deal with her death in a very different way.”

Kingston, Lourd and Rydell’s son was born in September 2020.
