Blake Shelton is making waves once more, this time with not one but two brand-new songs from his upcoming album—a clear reminder that his heart will always beat for country music

Blake Shelton is preparing to release a new album on May 9.

Blake Shelton promises to “Stay Country or Die Tryin'” as he prepares to release his new album next month.

Shelton got a new agreement with BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville last year (2024), after leaving his longtime label Warner Music Nashville. Shortly later, he released a new tune titled “Texas,” which pays homage to George Strait.

“Texas” was a major hit, and it helped Shelton set a personal milestone by garnering the most first-week radio additions of his career. Several months after its debut, “Texas” is still around the top of both Billboard’s country charts.

In March, Shelton announced the release of his first album in four years. Shelton has scheduled the release of the record, titled For Recreational Use Only, for May 9, the day following the ACM Awards.

Shelton has now disclosed the album’s entire tracklist and released another single, “Let Him in Anyway.” The melancholy track has Shelton addressing God, pleading with him to let a buddy into paradise who “was just shy of redemption” before passing away.
