Blues Brothers actor dies at 95 in LA flames after house ‘completely burnt down’

The terrible Los Angeles wildfires claimed the life of an actor who starred in the movie Blues Brothers at the age of 95, according to her relatives.

Fierce flames threatened the homes of nearly 200,000 people in Los Angeles, resulting in the burning of 12,000 homes.

One of the most destructive wildfires in US history has also killed 24 people.

The coroner announced on Sunday, January 12, that they discovered Blues Brothers extra Dalyce Curry’s body shortly before 6 p.m. local time that day.

Dalyce Kelley, the actor’s granddaughter, confirmed the devastating news on Facebook, saying her ‘loving grandmother’ had died.

“We had an amazing run. She had a significant effect on my life in several ways. “This loss is devastating,” she posted on social media.

KABC reports. Kelley last saw her relative about midnight on Tuesday (7 January), just as the fires were wreaking devastation over southern California.

The Eaton Fire eventually destroyed Curry’s Altadena home, and Kelley paid the ruins a visit on Friday (January 10) while her grandma was not around.

“I’m sorry your grandmother’s property has vanished. According to KABC, Kelly raced to the property after receiving a text message claiming that her grandmother’s house’s electricity had gone out. An officer informed her that it had completely burnt down.

Kelley described her discovery as a ‘complete destruction,’ noting that everything had vanished except for her blue Cadillac.

Lorée Beamer-Wilkinson, the actor’s other granddaughter, also turned to Facebook to express her sadness at her relative’s death.

She said, “With a heavy heart, I share that our search for Momma D has ended with the discovery of her remains in her home.” “We’re sad, and it’s tough to understand how her life came to an end.

“I am very glad for the love and opportunity to know her, even if only for a short time. Momma D was an amazing woman who accepted me and my children with open arms.

“She exuded optimism and grace and served as a bright example of strength, perseverance, and kindness. Her narrative is one of breaking down boundaries, conquering obstacles, and spreading love everywhere she goes.”

She went on to say, “I miss her greatly and am dealing with feelings of regret—wishing I had phoned her more, shared more moments. But I know that the greatest way to remember her is to keep her memory alive and treasure the wonderful times we had.”

Curry’s career included appearances in Blues Brothers and The Ten Commandments.
