Chris Pratt is drawing backlash for leaving out his ex-wife Anna Faris in his recent Mother’s Day tribute post.
On Mother’s Day, Pratt posted an Instagram and Twitter homage to his mother, Kathy, as well as tributes to his mother-in-law, Maria Shriver, and his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, with whom he has been married since 2019 and has two children.
“Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers out there,” Pratt said in the caption. “I’m especially thankful for Katherine today.” You’re an excellent collaborator. You’ve given me such a wonderful existence. Our two kids are really fortunate to have you, and you are the finest stepmother to Jack.”
“And to my mom, Kathy, you raised us with such love, light, and laughter— so grateful for you today and always,” he concluded. And to Maria, the finest Mama G, I consider myself fortunate to have you as a mother-in-law. And to all of the other moms in my life, thank you very much for everything you do. “I hope you feel honored today.”

While the “Guardians of the Galaxy” actor named his eldest son, Jack, many were upset that he didn’t mention the 10-year-old’s mother, Faris, from whom he divorced in 2018.
“How about your ex-wife?” one admirer asked in response to the post. She is still the mother of your kid.”
“I literally wished my ex’s wife a happy Mother’s Day today,” commented another. Why wouldn’t you, after all, if you had children in a blended family? Everyone who says, I’d never wish my ex a happy _____, you are poisonous asf.”
However, several fans defended Pratt, claiming that the actor’s detractors were making a huge deal out of nothing.

“All of those people making comments about Chris’s ex-wife, she never made a Father’s Day post about him either after they broke up.” Double standards and portraying him as a villain for no reason. If it’s your ex, you don’t have to involve them in anything unless you want to. “I’d do the same,” stated one enthusiast.
Pratt representatives did not immediately reply to a request for comment.
Pratt’s Instagram postings have previously sparked controversy.

In 2021, Pratt drew similar criticism for leaving Faris out of a Mother’s Day homage to Katherine, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s daughter. Pratt and Schwarzenegger have two children, Lyla, who is two, and Eloise, who will turn one on May 21.
Later that year, Pratt faced even more backlash when he praised Katherine for delivering him a “gorgeous, healthy daughter,” which some on social media thought inappropriate given his son, Jack, was delivered early with significant brain hemorrhaging.
Last year, Pratt told Men’s Health that he sobbed after seeing the criticism of the article.
“I’m like, that’s messed up.” My son will read it one day. He’s nine years old. “And it’s in digital stone,” the actor explained. “It really irritated me, buddy. I sobbed about it. I was thinking, “I hate that these blessings in my life are such a burden to those close to me.”
