Connie Francis, the singer of the famous ‘Pretty Little Baby’ song, died at the age of 87.
A friend of Connie Francis confirmed her death on social media.
Francis, born Concetta Rosa Maria Franconero, rose to prominence in the music industry with hits including ‘Pretty Little Baby,’ ‘Everybody’s Somebody’s Fool,’ and ‘My Heart Has a Mind of Its Own.’
Her close friend Ron Roberts announced her death on Facebook today (July 17), writing, “It is with a heavy heart and extreme sadness that I inform you of the passing of my dear friend Connie Francis last night.” I believe Connie would be pleased that her followers were among the first to learn about this terrible news.
The late artist has not recorded new music since the 1990s, but ‘Pretty Little Baby’ has lately seen an unexpected surge in popularity after going viral on TikTok.
North West was the first large celebrity to upload a video with music playing over it, and other social media users soon followed suit.

Francis responded to the viral success of her song before she passed away. She said on Facebook, “My gratitude to TikTok and its users for the great, and oh so unexpected, welcome given to my 1961 recording ‘Pretty Little Baby.’
“I first learned about it when Ron [Roberts] called to tell me I had ‘a viral hit.’
“Clearly out of touch with present-day music statistics terminology, my initial response was to ask, ‘What’s that?'”
She wrapped up the article with another thank you to her listeners.
People quickly congratulated Francis on her newfound viral celebrity.
A fan commented on her post: “Congratulations, Connie. This is wonderful news and a chance to introduce your fabulous music to today’s audiences so they can hear for themselves your amazing voice.”
A second gushed, “Connie, I’m overjoyed that your album, Pretty Little Baby, is rocketing to the top of the charts. It is past time for the younger generation to recognize the value of good music!” God bless you always.”
Someone else commented, “Connie, I am very happy for you with this unexpected gift! I don’t use TikTok, but it’s fantastic that the younger generation is discovering your unique tunes and ability. Enjoy the accolades.” I love you.”
In the days immediately up to her death, Francis informed her Facebook fans that she had been hospitalized with ‘severe agony’ and was in critical care.
Then, on July 4, Francis posted an update stating she was feeling much better and wished her supporters a happy Independence Day.
