According to his wife and model, Ariana Cooper Whibley, the 43-year-old Canadian rocker, also known as Bizzy D, has pneumonia.
In a concerning social media post, she also stated that there is a “possibility of heart failure.”
Ariana posted two photographs of her husband on Instagram, one of which showed him being placed in an ambulance.
The message was followed by a long update on Deryck’s condition, in which she stated that the scenario ‘brings back a lot of extremely unpleasant memories’.
“Deryck and I were supposed to be celebrating our eighth wedding anniversary in Chicago right now, but the universe had other plans for us.”
“We spent the entire night in the emergency room and will now spend the next few days here in the hospital as he fights pneumonia.”
“The scariest part is that there is a lot of strain on his heart, and they are telling us there is a possibility of heart failure.”
“This is obviously not our first time in a situation like this,” she said, “but seeing him back in a hospital bed connected to wires and IVs brings back a lot of really difficult memories.”
“I know how strong he is because I’ve seen what he’s overcome, but that doesn’t make it any easier to see.” I’ll try my best to keep everyone informed, but if you could keep him in your thoughts over the next several days, that would be fantastic.”
The singer of ‘In Too Deep’ has been sober since 2014, when he fainted in his kitchen and was brought to the hospital, where doctors informed him that his liver and kidneys had failed.
Deryck told Vice in 2015, following his health crisis, “It was the right time in my life for it to happen.” I’m pleased it occurred now rather than when I was 50, because my body wouldn’t have been able to handle it. But it’s awful that it has come to this.
“However, I’m feeling better than I’ve ever felt before.” I’m in better shape. “I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been in.”
Ariana and Deryk began dating in 2014, following his health issue. They have two children: Lydon Idby, three, and Quentin Arlo, six months.
