Despite the life barriers, this father went through challenges and raised a wonderful son, who has become a dentist

Sader Issa, a Syrian student, stated that his father, Jad, who has Down syndrome, has been a big help to him throughout his life.

Jad has been a community pillar in addition to parenting and supporting his kids. Down syndrome has not prevented him from raising his son.

Jad helped his son by directing funds from the wheat mill where he worked toward his college fees.

“I’m proud of my father,” Sader told the Syrian Society for Social Development. He has always been the most supportive person in my life when I needed it.

“You can see when his eyes are filled with joy and satisfaction, as if to say, ‘Yes, I have Down’s syndrome, but I raised this man and did everything in my power to make him a doctor and help others.'”

Some people inquired about the nature of his mother and father’s connection.

“One of the concerns people have is how a woman who does not have Down’s syndrome can marry a man with DS,” Sader told Metro UK.

“I believe that if both partners were on the same page, why not marry? They are academically compatible; they are simple yet kind and caring individuals.

“When people search Google, they discover that men with Down syndrome (DS) are infertile, so they are perplexed when they hear about us.”

Down syndrome, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is “a condition in which a person has an extra chromosome.”

“Chromosomes are small ‘packages’ of genes found throughout the body,” they explain. “They govern how a baby’s body develops and functions during pregnancy and after birth.”

“A newborn is typically born with 46 chromosomes. Down syndrome babies have an extra copy of one of these chromosomes, chromosome 21. ‘Trisomy’ is a medical term for having an extra copy of a chromosome. Trisomy 21 is another name for Down syndrome.

“This extra copy alters the development of the baby’s body and brain, which can result in both mental and physical challenges for the baby. Even though people with Down syndrome may behave and appear alike, each individual has unique skills.

“People with Down syndrome typically have IQs (intelligence quotients) in the mild-to-moderately low range and speak at a slower rate than other children.”
