Despite being two of Australia’s most famous exports, a video featuring the actors with their original Aussie accents has lately gone viral.
Even funnier, the footage comes from another Australian institution: Neighbours.
For those who are unfamiliar with the long-running soap opera, the plot revolves around the people of Ramsay Street and their intertwined lives.
Hemsworth was the first to be cast in the show, portraying local lothario Josh Taylor from 2007 to 2008, barely three years before The Hunger Games.
Robbie joined the series in the same year as Donna Freedman and stayed in the role until 2011, when she left for Hollywood.
In the clip, their characters argue about their buddy Bridget and her new boyfriend, Declan.
As they dispute, the Wolf of Wall Street star can be heard imploring Hemsworth’s character to ‘speak to the hand’ and ‘stop the pity party’. (A little rough.)
He says, I’m just trying to make polite conversation.”
While the corny conversation may not be Emmy-worthy, the footage appears to have captured the attention of the audience after being posted on social media.

Many admirers believe it’s the first time they’ve heard the A-listers with their Aussie twang, which Prime Video shared on TikTok.
“I don’t think I’ve ever heard him talk with his Aussie accent,” one person observed of Hemsworth.
Others have become accustomed to the performers’ American accents, with one commenting, “I forgot Margot is Aussie.”
Despite the fact that they both speak English, it appears that certain details were lost in translation.
“Thank God for subtitles,” a third user joked.
Meanwhile, another raved over the long-running Australian soap, which has become a fan favorite both at home and abroad.
They wrote, “I love how basically all Australian actors start on Neighbours.”

Robbie appears to have a soft spot for the long-running soap, which she first appeared in when she was just 17 years old.
The young performer had relocated to Melbourne for the part and had no friends or family nearby, so her castmates took her under their wing.
When the show was canceled in 2022, the Barbie actor sent gifts to the wrap party, noting that it was “very emotional.”
She told the audience at BAFTA: A Life in Pictures, “I wrote everyone a big letter with all my memories and sent 37 bottles of champagne for the years it had been on air—and of course I did a video they could play.”
Thankfully, the show has been resurrected, so there’s still a possibility she’ll return to Ramsay Street.
