Disney has announced when Jimmy Kimmel’s show will return after it was taken off the air following comments made by Charlie Kirk

Jimmy Kimmel, who was removed from the air after making comments in the aftermath of Charlie Kirk’s death, will return to our screens, Disney has said.

The 57-year-old spoke about conservative activist Kirk’s assassination on Jimmy Kimmel Live! during the show’s opening monologue last Monday (September 15).

Kimmel stated, “We hit some new lows over the weekend, with the MAGA gang desperately attempting to describe this guy who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they could to earn political points from it.

“In between the finger-pointing, there was mourning on Friday. The White House flew the flags at half-staff, which drew some criticism, but on a personal level, you can see how hard the president is taking it.”

Kimmel went on to criticize Donald Trump for ignoring his alleged sadness to focus on the construction of the White House’s contentious new $200 million state ballroom.

“Yes, he’s in the fourth stage of grieving, building. Demolition and construction. This is not how an adult mourns the murder of someone he considered a friend.” This is how a four-year-old mourns a goldfish, okay?” Kimmel said.

Following the statements, ABC decided to remove Jimmy Kimmel Live from the air ‘indefinitely,’ causing intense controversy among celebrities and fans.

The decision was met with much outrage online, and Disney has officially confirmed Kimmel’s comeback.

The Walt Disney Company, which owns ABC, said in a statement, “Last Wednesday, we decided to suspend production on the show in order to avoid exacerbating an already tense situation at an emotional time for our country.”

“We took this choice because we considered that some of the comments were inappropriately timed and hence hurtful.

“We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we decided to return to the show on Tuesday.”

Following Kimmel’s suspension, hundreds of Hollywood and Broadway stars, including Robert De Niro, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Selena Gomez, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Tom Hanks, and Meryl Streep, signed a letter urging Americans to ‘fight to defend and preserve our constitutionally protected rights.’

“Regardless of our political affiliation, or whether we engage in politics or not, we all love our country,” according to the letter.

“We also share the belief that our voices should never be silenced by those in power—because if it happens to one of us, it happens to all of us.”
