Drivers are just finding out about a secret button in cars that can be life-changing and isn’t widely known

Social media has been buzzing with reactions after a TikToker shared a ‘genius’ car hack.

If you’re among those in their late twenties to early thirties who haven’t yet passed their driving test, you might feel a bit left out, as this life hack isn’t applicable to you. However, for those with a license and the means to own a car amidst a cost of living crisis, one TikToker has unveiled a trick that has other drivers ‘IN LOVE.’

Ever been driving in the dark only to be suddenly blinded by another vehicle’s full headlights behind you? You may have resorted to hoping they catch a glimpse of your outraged expression through your mirror or venting frustration at your steering wheel.

But fear not, because TikToker Coach B – known as @everythingbrooklyn – shared a solution.

In a video from last year, Coach B demonstrates pushing a small tab located behind her rear-view mirror, causing the mirror to tilt downward slightly.

The caption reads: “Me flipping the rear-view mirror tab so the headlights don’t blind me. My boyfriend is a genius, who knew! #fyp #todayyearsold #foryou #rearviewmirror.”

It didn’t take long for people to flock to the post to praise the hack. Prepare to rush to your car to give it a try:

One TikTok user exclaimed: “I didn’t know about this either until a few weeks ago and my life has been changed ever since.”

“Just reminded me that I have this,” another admitted.

A third commented: “Oh my god, this is my favorite move!! It also emotionally feels like I’m flipping them off for having such gd piercing headlights.”

Others chimed in with their own discoveries:

“One user revealed: “K so my car has an auto dimming mirror & it dims the mirror based on how bright the car behind me is. And it’s just a 2016 Mazda. Nothing fancy. When I bought it, the salesman explained to me how it works and I sat there like this It is life changing. By far my favorite feature.”

And someone else added: “I can use a switch to move my two side mirrors and when someone with LED headlights is right behind me at a red light, I move them so it shines back.”

So, what do you think?
