Ed Sheeran’s wife got a cancer diagnosis when she was six months pregnant with their second child…

It’s easy to overlook the fact that despite their fame and fortune, celebrities are just like the rest of us. They experience the same joys and sorrows, heartaches, shocks, and difficult periods of life.

The next time we’re drawn to rumors or sensational headlines without evidence, it’s worth remembering this. Celebrities, as human beings, also face challenges from time to time.

Take Ed Sheeran, for example. Despite being one of the most successful musicians globally, he has had his share of struggles in recent years.

He and his wife, Cherry Seaborn, reportedly tied the knot in 2019 after getting together in 2015. However, their world was rocked when Cherry received a devastating cancer diagnosis while pregnant last year. To add to their anguish, Sheeran’s close friend passed away in the same month.

In an interview for his Disney+ documentary series “Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All,” Sheeran opened up about their ordeal. He described how Cherry’s health deteriorated, and the loss of his friend only compounded their misery.

The documentary captures Sheeran breaking down in tears while riding in a car. Cherry, in the sixth month of her pregnancy, revealed that doctors had discovered a tumor in her arm.

“I was diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of the year,” she shared. “It really made me think about our mortality. While I wouldn’t agree to something like that, it made me wonder: ‘What would people remember about me if I died? What legacy would I leave behind?'”

Sheeran’s goal with the documentary was to show people that he’s more than just a music machine. He’s a friend, a husband, and a son. He admitted that he hadn’t considered the possibility of his own mortality until that year.

After months of anxiety, Cherry successfully gave birth to their second child, a boy. Shortly afterward, she underwent a successful surgery to remove the tumor from her arm.

The worry Sheeran must have felt upon learning about his wife’s tumor during her pregnancy must have been immense. Thankfully, everything turned out well in the end.
