The Earth on which we dwell is not just ours. On the contrary, it is home to a vast array of animals, each more intriguing than the last. And, while humans have only tamed a small number of animals, it doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the wild ones as well, even from a safe distance.
There are several examples of people stepping in to help animals when they are most in need. Whether it’s a lost creature, a drowning one, or something else, certain individuals never hesitate to provide a helping hand, even if it comes with its own risks.
Brantly Harrison and her family came upon an injured squirrel one day. Knowing that aiding an animal of that sort is difficult because squirrels live in the wild, they were determined to do everything they could to help the vulnerable critter survive. They had no idea, however, that their nice act would be the beginning of a fascinating link and friendship that would continue far longer than any of them had imagined.

The squirrel, whom they called Bella, suffered the wounds as a result of an owl attack.
Fortunately, Bella grew accustomed to being around the humans who assisted her and was able to recuperate before being released into the wild. The Harrisons were saddened that their little buddy had left their house, but they knew Bella would be happier in her natural environment.

Someone began hammering on their window without ceasing around a year later when they were still sleeping.
Brantly and the rest of the family had no clue who it might be, but when they went to investigate, they were astounded to discover it was Bella. This wasn’t the first time she’d paid them a visit since they’d released her into the wild, but it was different this time. She appeared to be attempting to communicate with them, which is why she banged on their glass.

As usual, the Harrions were gracious and took Bella in. That’s when they realized one of her legs was broken. They quickly offered her much-needed assistance and placed her in a box.
When they returned to check on her the next day, they were astounded to discover three little squirrels at her side. Bella was a mother, and she was overjoyed to tell the people who adored her to the moon and back.

This anecdote exemplifies how people and animals may coexist together. It underlines the significance of preserving and safeguarding animals while acknowledging that intervention may be an expression of empathy and a lifeline for people in need in some instances.
