Netflix actor José De la Torre died at the age of 37, according to sources.

De La Torre gained most recognition for his portrayal of Ivan in the Netflix series Toy Boy.

The Spanish-language drama premiered in 2019 and has had two seasons thus far. The announcement of the third and final season for 2022 remains unpublished.

Montilla Digital was the first to report De La Torre’s death. The late actor hails from Montilla, Spain.

The magazine claims that the actor passed away from a recently discovered illness.

In June, De La Torre revealed that he received a serious disease diagnosis and promptly began treatment. He walked out of the spotlight to focus on his health.

On June 3, he uploaded his final Instagram image, which showed the 37-year-old having fun with friends in the Canary Islands.

De La Torre wrote, accompanying the photos, “The happiness of arriving in the Canary Islands, seeing your friends, grabbing a mojito, and starting singing until your voice breaks”.

Tributes have been pouring in for the Toy Boy actor following his death.

Pablo Alborán, a Spanish singer, posted on social media, saying, “It’s unbelievable how quickly you’ve left.” I am crushed by your leaving. I’m sending love to your entire family and friends.

“We won’t forget you, Jose. Wherever you are, I’m sure you’re wearing a Hawaiian shirt, a fantastic mustache, and the sunglasses we wore that day.”

Another individual wrote on De La Torre’s farewell Instagram post, “Fly high, my friend!” Another bright star illuminates the sky… we’ll see each other again!”

“So young, so handsome, so full of life, such a good actor, I can’t believe it. Rest in peace, Jose, and heaven will welcome you with open arms,” commented another of the actor’s admirers.

Someone else commented on his work in Toy Boy, saying, “Omg, such tragic news I just heard…” “I loved him in Toyboy.”

According to the New York Post, De La Torre had only been acting for a few years before winning a role in the Netflix series.

While he was relatively new to the acting business, he had previously spoken about his long-standing passion for movies.

“From an early age, I sought sanctuary in film. However, he wasn’t initially interested in acting.

“I was a child who never stopped watching films, just to entertain myself. This caught my attention and planted in me the seed that would later become the desire to dedicate myself to it.”
