People’s hearts melted when they saw F1 driver Kevin Magnussen’s 3-year-old daughter oblige him to turn around and sign a fan notebook

As Kevin Magnussen competed in what may be his final Formula One race, a video of his feisty three-year-old daughter telling him to sign a fan’s notebook emerged online.

After seven years behind the wheel, the 32-year-old finished 16th for Haas in the season’s last race, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, on Sunday (December 8).

The Dane has been racing at the summit of motorsport since 2017, and in that time he has welcomed two children, Laura (born in 2021) and Agnes (born last year).

Speaking before the race, his wife Louise took over the radio, and he finished with the fastest lap. She remarked, “Congratulations, honey, on your final race.

“I love you.” Welcome home to me and the girls.”
His daughter Laura was there during his farewell race, but she stole some hearts earlier in the season when a fan posted a TikTok video of her requesting her father to sign a fan’s autograph book.

The user wrote in the video, “When Magnussen’s daughter sees that her father doesn’t sign my notebook and goes to take it from my shirt [sic] to him to sign it.”

The tiny girl tugs on Magnussen’s shirt and points to the fan, urging him to sign something for her. Interestingly, she even scoots up to ensure he has done so before pretending to kiss the fan.

On Reddit yesterday (December 11), one user explained, “This was from earlier in the season. However, there were some adorable Magnussen family moments during the last round over the weekend, which was his last in Formula One.

“His daughter helped him put his gloves on before the race, and his wife spoke to him on the radio after the race.”

While replying to the TikTok, one person wrote, “If he doesn’t have a seat, I’m going to miss Laura so much.”

In the words of another individual, “That is too precious; I think she has him wrapped around her little finger”.

A third individual jokingly stated, “She would prefer that you sign that document immediately; otherwise, I will be fussing tonight.”

A fourth comment on the social networking platform read: “The fact that she goes to check and make sure that he did.”

Magnussen had to miss the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in September due to exceeding 12 penalty points, and he joked ahead of the next race he was eligible for in Singapore that he was ready to ‘f*** s*** up’.

He said, “It’s nice to have a bonus weekend off with the family.” In many respects, it’s lovely to have a small unexpected holiday.

“I told [Haas] before the race that if anything came up, I’d be happy to help with advice, opinion, or whatever. I turned it off altogether. It was a pleasant weekend off for me. You receive punishment, and then you return, prepared to f**k s**t up immediately.”
