Jacqueline Bisset is remarkable in so many ways.
The 78-year-old actress shows no signs of slowing down in a career spanning 58 years and a repertoire that includes about 50 films.
Jacqueline Bisset has been one of my role models since I was a small child, and my parents adored her. To me, she is one of the few women who embodies the beauty that Hollywood once possessed.
Throughout her illustrious career, the brown-haired beauty, known for her high cheekbones and striking green eyes, has demonstrated her versatility by portraying a variety of roles, including the sultry seductress Miss Goodthighs in the spy parody Casino Royale (1967), a devoted mother in Sleepy Time Gal (2001), and a devoted mother in Sleepy Time Gal (2001).

Bisset made her film debut in Roman Polanski’s Cul-de-Sac (1966) and rose to prominence in 1968 when she starred in three films in one year: Detective with crooner Frank Sinatra, Bullitt with Steven McQueen, and The Sweet Ride with Tony Franciosa and Bob Denver, who is best known as Gilligan on Gilligan’s Island.

Bisset, who speaks English, French, and Italian, was given the Legion of Honor, France’s highest state accolade, in 2010, and the Sedona International Film Festival honored her with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023.
Bisset has never married, despite working with some of Hollywood’s finest guys. Frank Sinatra chased the attractive woman, and allegations circulated that she was connected with Bullitt co-star and Hollywood bad boy Steve McQueen. But Bisset, a respectable English woman, thought they were too unlike.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, she remarked about McQueen, “He was attractive, but a little scary.” I was quite English, whereas he was a cool American. I would have been irritated by the way he spoke—I had no idea what a man or a soul chick was!”
She’s been in long-term relationships with Canadian actor Michael Sarrazin, ballet dancer Alexander Godunov, and actor Vincent Pérez, but she believes she’s too independent to commit to anything long-term.
“I’ve had some very interesting men in my life,” Bisset stated in an interview with the Independent. They’ve been a real pain. I’m told I don’t date easy men.” “Sometimes you get too much information when you spend time with people,” she said. You begin to notice things—bad behaviors. You start to notice them, and then you have to marry terrible habits, which I’m not sure I can do. I’ve never had a horrible relationship. I haven’t been furious. I’ve simply gotten out of some stressful conditions.”
Though Bisset, Angelina Jolie’s godmother, hasn’t made news for having scandalous romances, she became popular after winning a Golden Globe for her role as Lady Cremone in the BBC series Dancing on the Edge.
Her acceptance speech, with background music playing to signify her exit from the stage, was primarily meandering, but it displayed genuine thanks from the then-69-year-old, who had been nominated for best newcomer for 47 years.
She has since played a feisty femme fatale in the French thriller The Lodger (2020) and most recently in the film Loren & Rose (2022). Rose, a great actress attempting to re-establish her profession, is constrained by a reputation that depicts her as a “little zany and a bit unreliable.”
Rose, according to the film’s director, Russell Brown, is the polar opposite of Bisset in real life. Brown stated, “Viewers frequently assume that Jacqueline is ‘like she is in the movie.'” But this isn’t the case—as an actor and a woman, I believe she is quite different from Rose, and it’s a credit to her talent that the shift feels so natural.”
Bisset is a timeless beauty who gracefully accepts age. ‘I believe if you want to appear beautiful, you’ve got to forgive everybody,’ she stated in her controversial Golden Globes address. It is the most effective beauty therapy.’
She has also stated that despite having “lots of complexes” in her teens, she was never tempted by plastic surgery. “I don’t believe it makes you look any younger.” “It distinguishes you,” Bisset added.
