Many people have heard that George Clooney offered each of his dearest buddies $1 million. But what compelled him to do so? Not many people are aware of this!

George Clooney is one of the most well-known names in Hollywood. The A-List actor did not get to where he is easy; when he initially arrived in Los Angeles, he slept on friends’ sofas while auditioning. And he hasn’t forgotten where he came from for a second.

One of the most well-known George Clooney anecdotes is that he handed $1 million in cash to 14 of his closest friends. Many individuals may have heard that headline and dismissed it as a myth because, after all, who gives away $14 million?

But, in reality, Clooney did just that. In an interview, the actor revealed his motivations behind the whole incident.

“Amal and I had just recently met, but we weren’t dating,” the actor recalls. “I was a bachelor. We were all getting older. I was 52 at the time. ” And the majority of my friends are older than me,” he explained.

Despite being alone, he was grateful for all his friends who helped him whenever he needed it throughout the previous 35 years.

“They assisted me when I needed it throughout the years.” And I’ve been able to assist them throughout the years. “We’re all great pals,” he said. “And I realized that I wouldn’t have any of this without them.”

Additionally, since we are all fairly close, I assumed that they would all be there if a bus hit me. So why the f**k am I standing here waiting for a bus to hit me? he wondered.

So George chose to share his good fortune with the people he cared about the most. He had recently completed the film “Gravity” with Sandra Bullock, which was a huge success and earned him millions.

So the actor devised a plan that would create an excellent movie storyline.

He rented a vehicle with the word “florist” written on one side. Following that, he paid a visit to a Los Angeles warehouse known for stocking “huge pallets” of cash. The actor then received $14 million in cash and packed it into 14 separate Tumi suitcases.

Then he invited his group of pals, whom he affectionately refers to as “The Boys,” to dinner the next night.

“And I just took out a map and I just pointed to all the locations I got to go to in the world and all the things I got to see because of them,” the actor remembered of the meal.

Rande Gerber, Cindy Crawford’s husband and Clooney’s business partner in his Casamigos enterprise was among the 14 guys. In an interview, he also remembered the hectic night.

“Listen, I want you all to know how much you’ve meant to me and how much you mean to me in my life,” George remarked.

Gerber then recounted the happenings of that night. Clooney, he added, told them all how much they meant to him and how he would not be where he is now in his career without them. He then requested that his companions open the suitcases in front of them.

The 14 men were taken aback when they unpacked their baggage. Clooney added to their surprise by telling them that he had already paid off the money’s taxes.

“One was working at a bar near the airport in Texas, simply trying to support his family,” Gerber explained. “He rides his bike to work every day.” “I mean, these are the folks that looked after George, and now he’s giving it all back,” Gerber said.

Gerber, on the other hand, is a wealthy businessman in his own right and refused his friend’s substantial offer.

“I’m just going to make one announcement,” Clooney says, refusing to take no for an answer. Nobody receives their money if Rande doesn’t take the million dollars,” he said. This persuaded Rande to accept, but he later gave the entire sum to charity.
