Hanson performs brilliant acapella rendition of Bee Gees classic in the Sydney Opera House Without Mics!

Hanson wowed Sydney Opera House spectators by performing the Bee Gees’ “Too Much Heaven” a cappella, sans microphones! Following the band’s set, the three brothers put down their instruments for a more intimate performance. The brothers’ incredible vocals and superb harmonies reminded everyone why they were so renowned.

In the early 1990s, Hanson and his brothers created a cappella band and recorded old rock tunes. The Sydney Opera House was designed to allow orchestras to perform without microphones; therefore, it was ideal for such a performance. You can watch the performance on YouTube, which has received 2.5 million views.

Nicole Thompson, a Hanson fan, claimed the performance was the only encore on the String Theory Tour, which supported the band’s studio album of the same name. Thompson stated that supporters were “spoiled rotten with this unique treat from the guys.”

The String Theory album, orchestrated by David Campbell, included Hanson’s collaboration with the Prague Symphony. The tour included symphonic versions of the band’s music. Hanson’s a cappella performances include their 1997 Music Awards rendition of “MMMBop,” which you can see here.
