Her daughter’s wedding motivated her to get a facelift at age 60. See the dramatic mother-of-the-bride transformation

Brides are not the only ones who want to feel their best on their wedding day.

Dr. Mark Epstein, a New York-based, double board-certified plastic surgeon, developed a year-long bride beautifying program at his office, Océane Medical Aesthetics & Wellness, in Hauppauge, N.Y., but the rest of the wedding party can also participate.

Dr. Epstein’s selected timeline includes a variety of procedures like laser hair removal, Botox, facials, vaginal rejuvenation, and hormone optimization. He emphasizes that the “boot camp” takes a comprehensive approach.

“Aging is multifactorial, and when I say aging, even at age 20, there are signs of aging,” according to him. “There are changes to the face of the skin and the body because of the sun, genetics, diet, weight loss, weight gain, pregnancy, and all sorts of things.”

Dr. Epstein keeps going: “In order to get the best possible result and get someone wedding-ready — and we’re not just talking about the face anymore, we’re talking about the face and the whole body — we take a multifactorial approach addressing all the potential issues.”

Bernadette, a sixty-year-old patient, took advantage of Dr. Epstein’s treatments in preparation for her daughter’s forthcoming summer wedding. She first had a facelift and was so pleased with the results that she went back for breast augmentation, body contouring, and a tummy tuck.

“I had been thinking about a facelift for a very long time because the reflection in the mirror didn’t feel like me anymore,” she previously told PEOPLE. “My daughter’s engagement was the catalyst to finally begin the process.”

Bernadette says she was scared and excited before her operation, but she wasn’t concerned about the outcome. “I was so unhappy with the way I looked, and I trusted Dr. Epstein’s wealth of experience, expertise, and guidance on how we could make improvements,” she tells me.

While she had plenty of time to recover before her daughter’s wedding, Bernadette claims she only took one week off from work. “I went for a walk on the beach five days after the procedure; mind you, in a hat, scarf, and sunglasses, but I felt really good very quickly,” according to her.

The mother-of-the-bride adds that her “swagger has gone up quite a few notches as I now look as good as I feel.”

Five weeks following her body operations, Bernadette has no regrets, saying, “I’m already loving my results, and [it’s] just in time for my mother-of-the-bride alteration appointment!”
