Here’s how ESPN reacted to airing of video of woman flashing her chest during the Sugar Bowl broadcast

ESPN has issued an apology following an unexpected incident during the broadcast of the Sugar Bowl on Monday night. As the Washington Huskies held off the Texas Longhorns at Caesar’s Superdome in New Orleans, a reveler on Bourbon Street bared her breasts, and the national broadcast unintentionally aired the moment while returning from a commercial break.

Bill Hofheimer of ESPN expressed regret over the incident in a statement to the Associated Press, saying, “We regret that this happened and apologize that the video aired in the telecast.”

The NSFW moment occurred during the second half of the game, with a woman holding a beverage seen looking upwards while pulling down her shirt and exposing her chest.

Despite the off-field distraction, the Sugar Bowl game was intense, with the Washington Huskies securing a 37-31 victory over the Texas Longhorns. The latter, trailing by 13 early in the fourth quarter, fought back and had a chance to win on a final-minute drive, but a fourth-down attempt was ruled incomplete.

In the Rose Bowl, the University of Michigan clinched a significant overtime victory of 27-20 against the University of Alabama. This win propelled Michigan to the national championship game for the first time since 1997. Tom Brady, who played for Michigan and last won a national championship in 1997 under coach Lloyd Carr, celebrated the victory with a video of himself shirtless, passionately cheering on the Wolverines.

The national championship game between Washington and Michigan is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 8 at Houston’s NRG Stadium.
