The CBS cast of Blue Bloods is mourning the sudden death of Treat Williams in a tragic motorcycle accident. Williams, known for his recurring role as Lenny Ross in the popular crime drama, had a close friendship with co-star Tom Selleck, who plays New York City police commissioner Frank Reagan.
Tom Selleck, 78, expressed his deep regret over Williams’ passing, emphasizing the fleeting nature of life. He stated, “It has been said that we are all just passing the time and occupying our chairs for a very brief period. Treat, my friend, was nicely positioned in his chair and had a great name. I’ll miss him, but I’ll never forget him.”

Bridget Moynahan, who portrays Erin Reagan on the show, referred to Williams as an “actor’s actor” and praised him for making working together an “absolute pleasure.” She also highlighted his off-screen qualities, acknowledging his love and dedication to his family, and remarked, “Folks, we lost a good one.”
Vanessa Ray, who plays Eddie Janko-Reagan’s wife on the show, shared a heartwarming memory of Williams serenading her with a song from the Broadway version of Hair. She wished him a peaceful rest and celebrated him as a clever, compassionate, and attractive artist.

Williams frequently shared glimpses of the Blue Bloods set on social media before the tragic accident. In one post, he expressed appreciation for working with Tom Selleck, calling them “old pros” and emphasizing their camaraderie.
Williams’ agent of 15 years, Barry McPherson, confirmed his death, praising the actor’s brilliance and gentle character. McPherson described him as an “actor’s actor” and noted his enduring impact on Hollywood since the late 1970s.

The fatal accident occurred near Williams’ home in Vermont when he was struck by a car while riding his motorcycle on Route 30 near Dorset. The preliminary investigation suggests that the car’s driver failed to notice Williams’ motorcycle during a turn, resulting in the collision. Williams was critically injured and pronounced dead at a hospital in Albany, New York.

Condolences poured in from fellow actors, including Gregory Smith, Laura Dern, Marilu Henner, Jonathan Bennett, Melissa Gilbert, and Kim Cattrall, reflecting the profound impact Williams had on those who knew him. His legacy as a talented and compassionate individual will be remembered by colleagues and fans alike.
