The students were Iowa Music Ambassadors.
Diane Cupp was returning home from Frankfurt, Germany, with her husband when she saw a poignant scene she will never forget.
The Delta Air Lines flight had landed in Atlanta for a stopover when the pilot announced that a US Army private would be the first to disembark the plane. The private was assigned the task of transferring the remains of a WWII veteran.
Cupp was unprepared for what happened next. As the private rose to his feet to exit the plane with the remains, a group of high school students suddenly rose to their feet and began singing “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.”

Cupp stated that she was not on her intended flight, but after her encounter, she felt she was there for a reason.
The youngsters were members of the Iowa Ambassadors of Music. They were returning to Iowa after spending two weeks performing in concerts around Europe. According to Woman’s Day, there were 160 students on this flight, with 60 of them being members of the choir.
Cupp, ironically, was going home after exploring significant World War II locations in France and Germany. The pair had to change planes due to a medical issue with her spouse. Cupp was relieved that she was able to see such a moving performance.

You may now witness this magnificent display of patriotism for yourself. Allow friends and family to attend as well; nobody should miss this concert.
