Her voice is great, and she gives an excellent performance.
Kenedi Anderson, 17, stepped into the American Idol audition studio and shocked all three judges with her performance of Lady Gaga’s “Applause.” While she was playing the piano.

Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan had their standard pre-audition discussion to learn more about the adolescent, but the judges were unprepared for the power that Anderson’s voice possessed.

The youngster claims to be the only musically oriented member of her family, while all of her siblings are athletes.
Anderson opted to audition, and she had this to say about it.

“It was super cool,” remarked the Virginia native. “The judges were fantastic at calming me down.” I enjoy comedy, so they’re wonderful at cracking jokes here and there, and that made me feel a lot more at ease.”

Anderson’s father is apparently well-known in the football world.
He is East Carolina University’s director of player personnel and recruitment. He was also the University of Virginia’s director of player personnel for six years. He also worked as an administrative assistant at his alma mater, Brigham Young University.

Dakota, Rubee, Peyton, Jayce, and Jackson are Kenedi’s siblings.

She is well-known on TikTok and Instagram, but thanks to her audition, the rest of the world now knows who she is.

Perry’s demeanor altered the instant she sat down, pressed the keys, and began singing. Richie and Bryan exchanged knowing looks of surprise as the judge perked up.

Kenedi had the judges’ full attention.
And after she was through, there was a startled hush before the compliments began.

“They’re younger, skinnier, prettier, and they sing really well,” Perry observed. “Siri, please schedule an appointment with the plastic surgeon.” I’m not sure how you haven’t been hired yet.”

“You have checked every box.” Get ready to be your own hero,” she added.
Bryan went on to remark that his head was “spinning,” and he called Kenedi a “five-star recruit.”

“You don’t understand,” Richie continued. We could sit here all day singing tunes, but we’re looking for the next ‘thing’ in the music industry. You have honored us with your voice, your appearance, and your sound. You have granted our request.”

“What are the names of your fans?” Perry inquired.

“I don’t have any,” Anderson said.

“I’m called Keny!” Perry yelled in response to Bryan’s laughter.

The judges requested Kenedi bring her mother in, and Bryan then presented a new ticket system known as the Platinum Ticket. It permits a participant to advance to one of the Hollywood Week rounds.

Anderson received one!
“I truly believe the rest of your musical journey has just begun right here, right now,” Bryan remarked.

Anderson has been performing music for many years and is self-taught on the piano and guitar. She’s a contender worth keeping an eye on. The three judges can attest to this teenager’s ability to sing!
