Hilary Duff’s family is expanding. On December 12, the actress shocked fans by revealing that she is expecting her fourth child, her third with husband Matthew Koma.

Duff confirmed her pregnancy on Instagram by posting a photo of her family’s Christmas card, which depicts her hugging her baby bulge while surrounded by her family, making havoc on her bed. “So much for silent nights,” the card said.

Duff and Koma, on the other hand, sent a statement publicly announcing their new arrival. They wrote, “Buckle up, Buttercups, we’re adding one more to this crazy bunch!” and included pictures of their children.

Koma put a satirical spin on the pregnancy news on Instagram, saying, “Baby #4 is loading…” and tagging his location as “vasectomy clinic.” He also made an inside joke in response to Duff’s article. “The stalker from jail is going to be so mad,” he joked.

It didn’t take long for the couple to be inundated with congratulations. Pretty Little Liars actors Lucy Hale and Ashley Benson posted “Ahh” and “Yessss” comments on Duff’s post, respectively, while sisters Dakota and Elle Fanning wrote multiple heart emojis. Duff’s onscreen little sister in Cheaper by the Dozen, Alyson Stoner, made a lovely allusion to the 2003 picture. “Just 8 more to complete the pack,” she wrote.

Demi Lovato, Duff’s fellow Disney alum, commented on Koma’s post, “Omg!!! Congratulations!” while Christopher Mintz-Plasse, who officiated the couple’s 2019 wedding, graciously offered, “Happily to perform the V.”

Banks Violet, born in October 2018, and Mae James, born in March 2021, are the couple’s two children. Duff also has an 11-year-old son, Luca Cruz, with ex-husband Mike Comrie.
