A guy came across an ancient home for sale. The property was on the fringes of a tiny settlement in the area and clearly needs significant investment and restoration. However, the new owner planned ahead of time and transformed the dacha into a home worthy of the cover of an architectural magazine in just two years. The man also videotaped the whole repair procedure, detailing each stage in detail and approximating the expenditures. The man first appreciated the ancient dacha because of its handy location and spacious plot.

A farm road not far from the property goes to the highway, but there is no traffic noise here. It took some time to clear the property because it was densely forested with plants and even tiny trees. The home had just clean walls at the time of the restoration’s start. The owner quickly bricked up one of the windows and removed all of the original frames. Some walls had to be restored as well; it appears that the previous owners planned to demolish the house at some point.

The guy narrowed the window openings slightly and installed plastic frames with thick glass to keep the house warm in the winter. The roof and the entire upper half of the home, which served as a type of mezzanine, had to be replaced. But the worker handled the job quickly since he had previous building experience. Insulation was applied to the cleaned brick walls. The home was meant to be utilized both in the summer and in the winter. Of course, leaving the walls in this state was untenable, so the guy decided to cover them with beautiful panels. And it proved to be the ideal solution.

Lightweight panels with a beautiful structure were mounted on metal rails in a short amount of time. The home instantly took on a “commodity” appearance. The man captured the whole installation and job description on video. Of course, the restoration of the old dacha required time. However, buying it was still a wise choice because property in this condition is considerably more expensive.
