This girl taught her raven to talk, and it’s surprising. VIDEO

The young lady taught her pet crow to speak. She wanted to demonstrate his talents on film, and the first half went okay, but then the bird started saying entirely other terms, which bewildered the hostess. Mischief is a white-cheeked raven, which we don’t see around here. This kind of raven lives in the rugged and hilly terrain of East and South Africa. They are said to be one of the most clever corvids. Barnacle crows also have a distinct speech apparatus and can repeat learned words.

Excellent memory allows them to memorize a vocabulary of up to 100 words, giving the impression that the bird truly understands how to communicate. Of course, it’s not. Raven Mischief was trained to repeat sentences when he was a little chick.

Now he listens intently to the mistress, and after the proper repeat, he receives food instantly—a regular training procedure. Mischief faithfully repeats the girl’s comments in the first portion of the video. But then he appears to become bored; training birds is far more difficult than training mammals. One can only admire a girl’s perseverance in teaching her raven so many words.
