Awe-inspiring footage of an Olympic shooter’s casual silver medal triumph went viral, earning him the nickname “real-life James Bond.”
Once many people have moved past the drama surrounding the opening ceremony, the athletic activity has undoubtedly been remarkable.
A sport previously unknown to viewers has captivated them, and one shooter has made waves in Paris with his unique approach.
Yusuf Dikeç competed for Turkey in the 10-meter air pistol category this week and won an outstanding silver medal.
The vast majority of shooters at the event choose to employ specialized equipment to help them compete.
Kim Yeji, a South Korean athlete, is an excellent example of this, having used specialist shooting glasses throughout the competition.
So, how do they work?
Well, one side of the spectacles protected her left eye to prevent double vision, while the other side included a specialty lens to improve her precision.
However, during his Olympic campaign, Dikeç concluded that such a gadget was unnecessary.
The Turkish athlete merely wore standard glasses as he took aim in Paris.
While you’d assume he’d be at a disadvantage owing to a lack of technology, Dikeç maintained his calm and scored quite well to win a silver medal.
A video of the Turk’s play has gone viral on Reddit, with many people unable to believe he won a silver medal without using any equipment.
Furthermore, the nonchalant manner in which he places one hand in his pocket while shooting is really stunning.

“Real life James Bond goes crazy,” one Reddit user said.
“He didn’t win the gold on purpose because it’d have been too obvious,” he quipped.
In an interview with Turkish radio station Radyo Gol, Dikeç stated: “I shoot with both eyes, whereas other shooters do with one. Therefore, I was not interested in engaging in such activities.
“Shooting with both eyes—I feel it is superior. I already did a lot of work on it, so I didn’t need the equipment.
“Shooting with my hand in my pocket is unrelated to artistry. “I am more motivated and at ease while shooting.”
The Olympian went on to say that this attitude is about “bringing the body to equilibrium, focusing, and concentrating.”
Dikeç will be competing in his fifth Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.
