Jack Nicholson, 87, makes a surprise appearance on the 50th anniversary of SNL. You won’t recognize him…

Jack Nicholson, the actor in The Shining, made a rare cameo on Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary program, which spectators described as a ‘legendary moment.'”.

Since his performance in How Do You Know in 2010, Nicholson hasn’t acted in any other films and hasn’t been seen much in public.

However, last night (February 16), The Shining star, 87, was spotted in New York City at Saturday Night Live’s SNL50: The Anniversary Special.

While the actor has never hosted the show, he did serve as a presenter during the series’ 40th anniversary in 2015.

And during last night’s three-hour special, Nicholson presented Adam Sandler from his seat in the audience, saying, “Ladies and gentlemen, Adam Sandler.”

Sandler stood on stage with a guitar in his hands, saying, “Let’s hear it for Jack, baby! Jack made it out tonight!” Love you, brother.”

Fans of Nicholson quickly took to social media to express their opinions.

According to one Twitter user, “Jack showing up is the real headline here.”

Another individual added, “Such a legendary moment; love the energy between them both.”

A third added, “I can’t believe Jack has never hosted or even been on SNL, except for presenting at the SNL40 reunion show in 2015. You’d think Jack would be terrific at sketch comedy, albeit on live late-night network television.

A fourth person concluded, “Jack is the man.” Awesome.”

Sandler then went on to sing a tribute song to 50 years of Saturday Night Live, including some of the finest behind-the-scenes moments and talent.

The Grown Ups actor explained, “Everyone in this room has something in common.” The show changed all of our lives.”

Sandler sang, “Fifty years of writers seeing Spielberg at Lorne’s monitors, not smiling at one of their gags that he clearly despised. 50 years of those same authors getting inebriated at the afterparty and loudly proclaiming that “Jaws was overrated.”

The actor also poked fun at Kanye West, who has been on the program several times, saying, “Fifty years of discovering your favorite musician is antisemitic.”

Sandler also paid tribute to the founding cast members of SNL.

“We got four years of Eddie Murphy, eight years of Will Forte, five years of Jan Hooks and Gilda [Radner], six of Victoria [Jackson], 11 of [Michael] Che, three years of Melanie Hutsell, and Michael McKean crushed it in two,” he told us. “One of Billy Crystal, six of Dennis Miller, eight of [Phil] Hartman, the glue.”

However, many people stated that Nicholson’s entrance stole the program.
