Jamie Lee Curtis is voicing her mind.
In an interview with The Guardian published on Saturday, July 26, the actress, 66, talked openly about her views on plastic surgery, describing women who have undergone such procedures as “disfigured.”
“I’ve been very vocal about the genocide of a generation of women by the cosmeceutical industrial complex, who’ve disfigured themselves,” Curtis told the site via email via her publicist. In referring to a prop she bought to wear for the subsequent picture session, the celebrity said, “The wax lips really send it home.”
The Oscar winner then doubled down on her usage of the term “genocide.”
“I’ve used that word for a long time, and I use it specifically because it’s a strong word,” she told me. “I believe that we have wiped out a generation or two of natural human [appearance].”
Curtis went on to say, “The idea that you can change your looks with chemicals, surgical procedures, and fillers has disfigured generations of mostly women. And it is enabled and encouraged by AI, since consumers increasingly prefer the filtered face.”
The Freakier Friday actress explained that while a filter may appear “better” to some, “better is fake.”
“And there are too many examples—I will not name them—but very recently we have had a big onslaught through the media of many of those people,” she told reporters.

Curtis also stated that she does not condemn her Hollywood rivals who opt to get plastic surgery.
“It is not relevant. I’m not proselytizing to them,” she stated. “I would never speak a word. I would never say to someone, “What did you do?” I just know that it is a never-ending loop. That’s what I know. Once you begin, you cannot stop. But it is not my responsibility to express my view; it is none of my business.”
In a May 60 Minutes interview, Curtis discussed the one cosmetic operation she underwent. At the age of 25, the actress had an operation after a cameraman on the production of the 1985 picture Perfect made harsh remarks about her appearance.
“He said, ‘Yeah, I’m not shooting her today.'” Her eyes are baggy. And I was 25, so hearing him say that was incredibly uncomfortable,” Curtis remembered. “So as soon as the movie finished, I ended up having some plastic surgery.”
The Halloween star, who is the daughter of Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, admitted that the operation did not go well and that she still regrets it. “That isn’t something you want to do when you’re 25 or 26. “I instantly regretted the operation, and I have continued to regret it ever since,” she explained.
Curtis also discussed establishing herself as a proponent of natural beauty.
“I’ve become a public advocate for telling women they’re perfect as they are.” “So yeah, it wasn’t a good thing for me to do,” she said.
