Prince Harry’s humble peace gesture towards the Royal Family has been revealed, amidst hopes for reconciliation

Prince Harry is apparently offering to share his official calendar of events and trips with the royal family, in what appears to be the latest move to calm tensions between the two sides following years of estrangement.

The suggestion would allow for greater clarity regarding the Duke of Sussex’s upcoming events, preventing conflicts between Harry and Meghan Markle’s public appearances and the British royal family’s engagements—and hence allegations of attempting to overshadow one another, according to The Mail. According to the publication, Prince Harry’s recent trip to Angola dominated press coverage, overshadowing Queen Camilla’s 78th birthday.

Furthermore, swapping diaries might indicate that the two teams are working to schedule a meeting between Prince Harry and King Charles. The father and son last met in February 2024, when the Duke of Sussex went from California to the United Kingdom to meet the King following the revelation of the monarch’s cancer diagnosis. After a brief visit at Clarence House, Harry left the United Kingdom the next day.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s staff refused to comment when PEOPLE contacted them.

The new revelation follows a private meeting on July 9 in London between two of Prince Harry’s advisers and King Charles’ communications secretary.

“It was a good first step,” a source told People. “It is always better to be talking.”

Some palace officials have downplayed the encounter, describing it as a professional interaction between communications personnel. However, the meeting may have signaled a tentative resumption of communication between father and son after years of relative silence.

“It’s a positive step,” the source explained. “There’s optimism that it can be taken forward.”

In May, in an interview with the BBC, the Duke of Sussex stated that he would “love reconciliation with my family.”

“There’s no point in fighting anymore,” he remarked, adding, “I don’t know how much longer my father has,” presumably referring to King Charles’ cancer diagnosis and current treatment.

Despite apparent progress in Prince Harry and King Charles’ relationship, Prince William and Kate Middleton were apparently unaware of the meeting between the teams, highlighting the siblings’ continued conflict.

“It’s no coincidence that William and Catherine did not have a representative at the Royal Over-Seas League,” a friend reportedly told the Daily Mail. “They were not asked to send anyone and will be treating the talks with extreme caution.”

The individual continued: “The fact that it ended up in the newspapers tells you all you need to know.”
