Jessica Chastain opens up about how her friendship with Oscar Isaac has changed after playing couple in movies

Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain played a couple in a series a few years ago, and Jessica Chastain has remarked that their friendship “has never quite been the same” since.

Scenes from a Marriage is an HBO version of Ingmar Bergmann’s 1973 Swedish TV drama about a marriage disintegrating, starring Chastain, 46, and Isaac, 44. It was a challenging undertaking, to say the least.

The two stars are both happily married to other people, but throughout the years, their tight connection has frequently left fans perplexed and under the impression that they are dating.

As opposed to Isaac, who is the spouse of Danish film director Elvira Lind and has two boys of his own, Chastain is married to Italian fashion executive Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo.

In reality, both of the respective couples were married in 2017: Isaac and Lind in February, and Chastain and Passi de Preposulo in June.

The question “Is Jessica Chastain married to Oscar Isaac?” still appears in Google’s autofill options, at least in part because of their prior appearance on the red carpet of the Venice Film Festival, when they posed holding hands.

However, the reason for their lengthy friendship—which they exploited to their advantage while filming Scenes from a Marriage and portraying longtime partners Levy and Mira Phillips—is that they attended college together.

For his efforts, Isaac received Primetime Emmy, SAG, and Golden Globe nominations, while Chastain received a Golden Globe nomination.

Despite the fact that their performance received praise after the series ended, Chastain later acknowledged that their friendship faltered.

She stated that filming the series was “very tough” and that she required Isaac’s distance thereafter in a recent interview with Vanity Fair.

“I love Oscar, but the truth is that our friendship has never quite been the same,” she said. We’ll be OK, but following that, I thought, “I need a little bit of a break.”

“That series had a lot of ‘I love you, I hate you’ moments. But I love what I get to do so much. A lot of catharsis occurs. Because I get to have these experiences, I believe I have the finest job in the entire world.

“They feel like mine and are so extraordinary. I have a fairly tranquil life, though. These torturous things are not necessary for my existence. I feel them by playing them, after which I return home and live calmly and peacefully.
