Judge Simon Cowell had one word to sum up Maya’s performance: ‘Whoa!’

A 10-year-old Indian guitarist performed on “America’s Got Talent” for the first time.

In Tuesday’s program, Maya Neelakantan sang Papa Roach’s “Last Resort” to a delightfully delighted panel and audience.

Judge Simon Cowell used one word to describe Maya’s headbanging skill as he saw her perform: “Whoa!”

She began by strumming cautiously, then let go.

Cowell claimed she “turned into this rock goddess.”

“I think you just picked yourself up a viral moment,” fellow panelist Howie Mandel rightly predicted.

Several publications covered her electrifying audition.

Maya participates in a YouTube channel maintained by her parents, but she faced quite different circumstances in a nationally televised competition.

“What an honor that I got to play for the first time on stage, and it’s on America’s Got Talent!” she remarked on a YouTube video of her performance. “Thank you for creating an unforgettable memory for me!!”
