Judges initially doubt his feminine voice, amazed by his Sinatra-esque performance

American Idol has seen its fair share of contestants with quirky obsessions, ranging from cringe-worthy to hilarious. However, such eccentricities become more palatable when paired with the right voice.

Enter 16-year-old Zack D’Onofrio from West Chapel, Florida, who, during his audition, surprises the judges by pulling up his pants and distributing brightly colored socks. Despite the unconventional introduction, the judges, albeit seemingly skeptical, give him the green light.

Zack, claiming only a year of singing experience, announces his choice to perform Frank Sinatra’s “The Way You Look Tonight.” Given his unorthodox mannerisms and the description of his voice as somewhat “girly,” the judges appear intrigued but cautious.

Any reservations about Zack’s peculiarities vanish the moment he starts singing. His performance is so captivating that it prompts Katie Perry to giggle, and soon, all the judges join in, leaving their chairs to dance and move around with him. With a voice like Zack’s, resistance proves impossible.
