The actress sparked intrigue with a recent Instagram snap, leading some netizens to speculate if she was pregnant.
Katie Holmes came to Instagram on March 23 to share photos from an event in New York. In one of the photographs, the 45-year-old actress looked stunning in a viscose jacquard dress from Tory Burch’s Fall 2025 runway show, which included the brand’s new Bambi pattern.
The item had a ruched waist accent that hugged her tummy, which soon drew viewers’ attention. Brie Welch styled the dress and teamed it with brown stockings, Burch slingback shoes, and a pink suede Savette purse.
The 45-year-old actress captioned the post, “About last night. What a stunning new room. A little slice of Paris in New York… @printempsnewyork ❤️️. ” The appearance, although beautiful, rapidly generated excitement in the comments section, with some people speculating about a possible baby bulge.
“Is she pregnant?” One netizen inquired, while another added, “She looks [sic] like she is expecting.” A third person said, “She’s having a baby?” A fourth person typed, “Why does she look pregnant?”

As more individuals publicly questioned Holmes’ pregnancy, others were interested in the possibilities and the father’s identity.
The actress’ appearance has sparked controversy online before. In November 2024, she took a leisurely stroll in Brooklyn wearing a unique outfit. While Holmes’ style combined elegance and adaptability, some netizens believed the celebrity appeared “homeless.”
The $1,545 limited edition bomber jacket transforms essential outdoor clothing into a stylish statement.
You can invert it to reveal a quilted side, and it is water-repellent. Holmes embraced the style, wearing an eye-catching multi-colored jacket by Marfa Stance.

Under the jacket, the “Dawson’s Creek” actress wore a cozy-looking white sweater with an exaggerated polo neck.
Holmes styled her bomber with wide-legged gray trousers with a “raw hem” and “stalwart Acne Studios square-toe loafers.” The actress also carried a tan “Khaite tote” purse, which looked fantastic with her “earthy” jacket.
She accessorized with large black sunglasses and kept her hair free. A video of the actress, released on Instagram and TikTok, shows her going down the street with one hand in her pocket.
“Katie Holmes ❤️❤️, as always, looked very beautiful while out for a walk, showcasing her style,” wrote Elder Ordonez, who captured and tweeted the video. Unlike Ordonez’s compliment to Holmes, netizens criticized her looks.
“Looks like a hot air balloon that popped,” said one Instagram user. Another person said, “This is not stunning but frumpy; I would not scrub floors in that attire,” while another said, “She looks homeless.” “She looks like a bag lady, which is not impressive,” a TikTok user commented.er.
Others concentrated on a certain piece of apparel. “She is a beautiful woman, but those pants are hideous,” said one netizen. An observer said, “Those pants are ridiculous.”

Further criticism of Holmes’ pants followed, with another observer remarking, “Those pants are horribly unflattering.” “Can we all get over these clown pants already???” said one social media user.
Amid the hatred, there were a few compliments. “She looks pretty 😍,” said an admirer. One fan commented, “Her [sic] outfit is amazing! 🤍🤎✌🏼,” and another added, “Velovelyice ❤️.” “Her style is awesome,” said yet another lover.
Months before she was spotted in New York wearing an avant-garde costume, the “First Daughter” actress worked on a fashion line with Parisian designer A.P.C., which she has been a faithful customer of since the 1990s.

The celebrity collaborated with A.P.C. to create a dozen iconic items of apparel inspired by feminine traits, as well as a collection of sophisticated accessories.
To design the items, Holmes immersed herself in the fashion house’s archives and “[stepped] into the memories of A.P.C. garments from the past, bringing inspiration from collections from the early 2000s and working to make them modern and relevant to the 2024 customer.”

The line is designed as a “series of complete silhouettes,” allowing pieces to be combined and matched.
The brand designated a pastel-colored blanket (one of the collection’s items) as a standout garment inspired by a prototype created by the actress’ mother. This sculpture is likewise a limited edition, with just 100 copies produced.

When the collection, “Interaction #24 A.P.C. Katie Holmes,” was released, Holmes and A.P.C. had an event on June 5 at the fashion brand’s shop in Mercer, New York.
Holmes joined A.P.C.’s Artistic Director Judith Touitou for a Q&A session hosted by Gabe Tesoriero during the event.
Holmes and Touitou highlighted the collection’s creative influences and personal tastes, as well as how their respective backgrounds and experiences informed the design process.

“[Katie’s] choices were always very clear; she had these very smart and thoughtful ideas about what a woman today should wear to feel confident and beautiful but still be herself,” Touitou said to me during the interview.
The “Logan Lucky” star highlighted how she approached the design phase with “the idea of creating a complete wardrobe,” noting that the collection includes things for both day and night wear.

When asked to define the distinctive twist she added to the collection in one word, Holmes replied, “I would say tradition. We’ve integrated quilting into several of our items and designed quilts to complement the collection.”
She went on, “To me, patchwork signifies history and memories, a thread of generations that runs through each of us. It’s about vintage influencing the modern, remembering the past, and embracing tradition.”

Other subjects mentioned during the Q&A session were Katie Holmes’ learning experience from the process.
“Working with Jean and Judith Touitou […] taught me a lot about shape, form, and color via their creative ideas.” This collaboration has been a joyful reminder that working together with kindness can result in beautiful and authentic creations,” Holmes stated.
