Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have announced their separation. The pair, who were engaged in 2019, have parted ways. TMZ was the first to disclose the news.
Perry (40) and Orlando (48) met at a Golden Globes afterparty in 2016. At the moment, they were fighting over an In-N-Out burger.
“I met my guy at In-n-Out. We were at the Golden Globes, but we weren’t together,” she stated on an episode of American Idol. “So I had my security guard grab 10 In-N-Outs, and all of a sudden I see my boyfriend’s hand—he wasn’t even sitting at our table—he just swoops in and he grabs it, and I was like, ‘Hey, that’s my burger!'”
Then, in May of that year, they made their Instagram romance public after visiting the Cannes Film Festival.
By February 2017, the pair had announced their breakup; however, they remained friends. (Perry subsequently revealed the year-long hiatus during an appearance on Call Her Daddy..
“We’re friends, it’s good,” Bloom remarked about his breakup with Perry in April 2017. “We’ve all grown up. She is a well-known figure, but I don’t believe anyone is interested in what I’m doing. Nor should they. It is between us. It’s preferable to provide an example for children and demonstrate that [breakups] don’t have to be about hatred.”

In February 2018, a source close to them said that the pair was spending time together but “not necessarily putting a label on it.”
“They’re not girlfriends and boyfriends. They do appear to be happy together, though. Orlando always spoke the sweetest things about Katy. “He enjoys spending time with her,” the person stated.
Months later, in September, they made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Global Ocean Gala at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo in Monaco.
Bloom proposed on Valentine’s Day in 2019, according to Perry, who disclosed this on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
“Orlando had planned this for a while,” a source told People. “He wanted it all to be special.” He even sought her parents’ agreement beforehand.
Perry and Bloom then revealed their pregnancy in the singer’s music video for “Never Worn White” in March 2020.

Perry spoke about managing her personal life, including her romance with Bloom, while on the road. “I’ve talked a lot about love languages and how important they are in learning your partner’s love language, and even if it isn’t your love language, tapping into that for them,” the “Thinking of You” performer reflected.
Perry most recently accused a fan of “DM’ing my man” at a stop on her Lifetime Tour at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and begged them to stop.
“Listen, if you keep direct messaging my boyfriend… Oh, Kyle? Yes, I understand.” You’ve been doing it for months, since the [Play] residency,” she informed a fan in the audience.
“You didn’t come to see me play,” she said. “If you keep DMing my boyfriend, I will have you deleted. Really, get your life.”
