Katy Perry, a pop diva, broke down and sobbed on stage at a recent show amid heated internet criticism over her current tour.
Perry debuted her Lifetimes globe tour in Mexico City this week, a 24-song, hit-filled performance that will go to Australia in June for a series of sold-out stadium shows.
However, early social media comments on the new program contained some harsh criticisms, which have already gone viral.
“Katy Perry said NO BUDGET for the Lifetimes tour!” proclaimed one viral TikTok, which depicted Perry fighting with her backup dancers during the hit E.T. while holding what seems to be a plastic lightsaber.

The video received hundreds of comments, many of which mocked Perry and the tour’s alleged “cheap” production standards.
“It’s giving Temu gaga,” read one scathing review, while another likened it to Glasgow’s famed “Wonka Experience.”
Others noted that the singer appeared “bored” in the videos they saw online.
Other aspects of the act have also received harsh criticism, notably Perry’s choice to employ what looks to be AI-generated images in the video backgrounds for the tour.
