Brandon Blackstock, talent manager, died at the age of 48.
The American, who was married to singer Kelly Clarkson from 2013 until 2022, died after a battle with cancer.
The Fort Worth, Texas, native works as a talent manager for Starstruck Entertainment, which represents high-profile clients such as Carly Pearce, Emily Ann Roberts, and Blake Shelton.
Blackstock and Clarkson have two children together, and he also had two children from his previous marriage before marrying the singer. He just became a grandpa.
In a statement to People, a family spokesman said, “It is with great regret that we relay the news that Brandon Blackstock has died.

“Brandon heroically fought cancer for over three years. He died away gently, surrounded by family. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers, and please respect the family’s privacy at this difficult time.”
Clarkson took to Instagram and said, “Unfortunately, I must postpone the balance of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas.
“While I generally keep my personal life private, my children’s father has been unwell throughout the past year, and I need to be totally there for them right now.
“I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows, and I so appreciate your grace, kindness, and understanding.”

In a 2013 interview with People, Clarkson stated, “This man goes by, making everyone giggle. I said, ‘I’m going to end up with him.” I know it.”
The couple married in October of that year.
Four years later, she spoke about her then-husband on SiriusXM.
“This isn’t a downer to anybody I dated before him, but I’m just going to be real: I never felt like, honestly, sexually attracted to anybody before him,” Clarkson remarked at the time. “And I’m not putting down my ex-partners. You know, everybody is different.” But there was something about him.”

Blackstock was the talent manager for country artist Blake Shelton, who is married to Gwen Stefani. His efforts on behalf of Shelton also helped him secure a job as his ex-wife’s manager.
Speaking with Marie Claire in 2018, the artist spoke highly of him.
“I wouldn’t have hired Brandon to be my manager if I didn’t see firsthand how great he is at that and how much he cares about Blake,” the football player added. “And the way [Blake’s] career has taken off, I would have recruited Brandon anyway. He’s really skilled at what he does, yet his mind functions in a completely different way.”
