Kenneth Mitchell, renowned for his roles in ‘Star Trek’ and Marvel productions, has passed away, as confirmed by his family.
In an Instagram statement, his family announced his demise, remembering him not only as a talented actor but also as a dedicated family man.
Mitchell faced a battle with ALS for over five years before his passing, with his family expressing that he approached each day as a precious gift despite the challenges posed by his illness.

Over his career, Mitchell featured in various films and TV series, such as “Nancy Drew,” “The Astronauts Wives Club,” “NCIS,” “Castle,” “Criminal Minds,” and “Grey’s Anatomy.”
His breakthrough role came in 2006 when he starred in the series “Jericho,” participating in 27 out of 29 episodes over two seasons.
More recently, Mitchell delved into science fiction, portraying Carol Danvers’ father Joe in the 2019 Marvel blockbuster “Captain Marvel” and assuming multiple roles in the Paramount+ original series “Star Trek: Discovery.”
Survived by his wife Susan, children Lilah and Kallum, parents, siblings, and several nieces and nephews, Kenneth Mitchell’s family has requested donations to ALS research in his honor.
Kenneth was 49 years old.
