Kevin Costner and his wife of over 19 years, Jennifer, are separating. The revelation came as a surprise to Costner, who is presently working on his forthcoming western film Horizon.

People close to the marriage said Christine Baumgartner, the one who filed for divorce, allegedly informed her husband that if he continued to be away from home due to work, she would leave him.

Costner’s absence was apparently ‘painful’ for Baumgartner, who wanted him to spend more time at home with his family in Santa Barbara.

“Kevin isn’t around much during filming. “His absence has been extremely difficult for her,” a source allegedly stated. Another source stated that, while Costner was aware that his wife was unhappy in their marriage, her filing for divorce came as a surprise to him.

“Christine does not want him to get involved in another project.” Since last year, he has been preoccupied with filming Horizon. “She was not pleased,” a source said.

“At times, his career has taken precedence over his home life,” according to another insider.

“All of the success and excitement surrounding the new project probably diverted his attention away from his family more than he realized. “Because it didn’t appear that this would change and was going to worsen, it created strain at home,” the person noted.

The pair began dating in 2000 and married four years later, having three children together, all of whom are still young. Costner’s marriage is not his first. He previously married his college love, Cindy Silva. Silva funded his desire to become a celebrity by holding numerous jobs, including that of Snow White at Disneyland, during his early days as an actor. However, as his career flourished, she became concerned about him filming steamy sequences with female coworkers. There were also reports of supposed infidelity, and the couple finally separated.

It was a horrible divorce that caused one of the most renowned celebrities to be lonely for a long time.

Until he met Baumgartner, that is. The pair originally dated and then parted because Costner did not want any more children, to which the former model responded, “I’m going to wait for you, but not for long. “Come back to me when you’ve come to your senses,'” and he did.

“It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond Mr. Costner’s control have transpired, resulting in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action,” a spokeswoman for the actor stated.

“We ask that his, Christine’s, and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time,” said the statement.

According to reports, Baumgartner has not requested spousal support. Laura Wasser has submitted Costner’s rebuttal. “Spousal support to be payable to petitioner pursuant to the terms of the parties’ premarital agreement,” Wasser wrote, implying that both parties had a pre-nuptial agreement.
