Kevin Hart just celebrated his 44th birthday. But, as always, the actor retains a youthful spirit. However, he just experienced an encounter that altered his perception of what aging is like.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the age of 40 is real,” he said on social media. “To all my 40-year-old men and women out there, it’s not a game,” Hart said in his post. “Respect that age or that age will respect you.” It just taught me to appreciate it.”
“I use a wheelchair. Why? Because I attempted to get out there and do some young stuff, “I was told to sit my a$$ down,” the comic said.
All of this stemmed from an unfortunate athletic occurrence. Hart had challenged ex-New England Patriots great Stevan Ridley to a 40-yard race, which did not go well. The comedian went on to describe how this predicament came about.
“This discussion was about who was faster. “Those who know me know I’m pretty fast,” Hart remembered, laughing. “‘Kevin, there’s no way you’re going to defeat me,’ Stevan remarked. Stevan was a former NFL running back for the New England Patriots. Very nice individual… So we go out there and do the 40-yard dash.”
“Guys, I blew all my s**t,” Hart said before going on to describe his injuries. “I tore my lower abdomen; my abductors are torn; I’m not sure what that is, but I tore them. I tore them. “I’m unable to walk.”
“At this age, what are we competing for? What exactly am I doing? Why did I even enter the race? “Stupidest s**t ever; I can’t walk now,” Hart said. “What were you thinking, son? “I must be the stupidest man alive.”
He just wrote, “44 and sitting my ass down! in the video’s caption. I must be the stupidest man alive! What on earth am I doing? I blew it… I’m finished. FML.”
His celebrity buddies were on his side. “Getting older is real!” said actor Will Smith. Kev, get well soon!
Ridley also added remarks to his story after posting the video. “I saw @TomBrady do it at your age, so I figured you had the juice too big, bro!” he tweeted.
But, of course, Ridley followed up with an apology, writing, “My bad, @KevinHart4Real! “Healing up and keep making us all laugh!”
