We’re all guilty of occasionally indulging in a sweet treat.
Sugary treats may be addicting, making it difficult to resist a candy bar or a cake.
However, one sugar addict appears to have gone too far.
Their love of the sweet stuff drove them to conduct a real-life crime that sounds like something out of a cartoon.
A vehicle with a whopping 10,000 Krispy Kreme donuts was stolen.
The firm reported the strange-sounding occurrence when the van was stolen while on its delivery route in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia.
When the car came to a halt at a petrol station, the donut bandit attacked.

The delivery vehicle was taken at 3.30 a.m. on Wednesday (November 29) from a Carlingford fuel station.
The driver of the van was apparently inside the petrol station when the opportunistic sugar-fiend burglar decided to steal it.
In the CCTV footage, they suspect a lady drove away in the donut-filled car.
And if the burglar likes Krispy Kreme, she’ll be overjoyed.
The delivery vehicle is thought to have been stocked with a combination of classic Krispy Kreme tastes as well as a variety of their special Christmas alternatives.
Krispy Kreme has subsequently issued a comment on the incident, with a representative stating, “Police are currently searching for the van and the sweet-toothed thief.” She is thought to have hopped aboard the vehicle when the driver was inside the service station.”
Lenny Reddy, supply chain leader, further stated, “Our Krispy Kreme team is working to replace the 10,000 stolen doughnuts, which are handmade fresh each day, at their intended destinations.”
And it’s evident that Reddy and the Krispy Kreme staff appreciate the police assistance as well.

“We apologize for any inconvenience, and we are thankful for NSW Police’s swift response,” he said.
“We currently offer a 50 percent discount on all Krispy Kreme purchases in-store to all emergency personnel, including police, who are in uniform.”
How thoughtful of them!
Customers were also informed that, despite the theft, there will be no shortage of donuts at their Charlestown location.
“We are happy to advise that customers who were intending to purchase or who had orders placed at Krispy Kreme Charlestown will be able to get their doughnuts, as the stock has already been replaced.” He went on to say:
Police are asking the public for help with the unusual donut robbery, saying in a statement, “If you’ve got any sweet leads or Krispy CCTV footage, donut, keep it to yourself!” Please call Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.”
