Lisa Marie Presley’s daughter has opened up about how her mother’s marriage to Michael Jackson affected their family.

Lisa Marie Presley and Danny Keough, who wed from 1988 to 1994, are the parents of Riley Keough. She is Elvis’ eldest grandchild and has followed in her family’s footsteps as an actor, appearing in TV programs and films such as Daisy Jones & the Six, The Girlfriend Experience, and American Honey.

Following her divorce from Danny, Lisa Marie married the ‘Thriller’ singer from 1994 to 1996.

Riley also spoke on the Call Her Daddy podcast about her two years with Jackson as her stepfather.

“Our life wasn’t much crazier because it already was. “That already existed, like the press, the crazy, the paparazzi, and, you know, everything,” she said.

“But… when [Lisa Marie Presley] viewed Michael’s life, there were qualities he possessed that she did not. She didn’t have a plan at the time or anything like that.

Riley recounted how it made her mother believe she should have a plane’ and other things, which meant their life ‘in that way kind of grew greater.’

“Before that, she was with my father, and their life was quite modest; she didn’t need all of that, and I believe that changed,” the actor continued.

Riley was just five years old when her mother married Jackson, and it wasn’t long before authorities began investigating the singer.

The family of four children accused Jackson of sexual assault; he denied the accusations and ultimately won his acquittal.

Riley claimed that she received no information about the claims during their marriage.

She told Alix Earle, the show’s host, “I imagine my dad was really heartbroken reading the news, and… I would imagine he said all kinds of things to my mum that we didn’t know about.”

“My parents’ parenting style was primarily focused on avoiding conflicts with the kids.” We never say anything about them. We weren’t aware of any claims. We were not aware of that.”

After Lisa Marie passed away in January 2023, Riley completed her memoir, From Here to the Great Unknown, which became available in October 2024.
