Mandy Moore shared a heartbreaking video of her ‘Sweet Home’ being destroyed by a Los Angeles fire. ‘Absolutely Numb’

Mandy Moore is experiencing a tragic loss.

The 40-year-old This Is Us actor sent an update on Instagram regarding her “home” during the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 8.

“This is Altadena.” Leveled. My beloved home. I’m horrified and heartbroken for those of us who have lost so much. She commented, “I’m absolutely numb,” as a video of burned and still-burning structures she saw while driving down a road in the northeast Los Angeles area played.

Moore’s own house may not have sustained damage, but her community certainly has.

She followed up on her original Stories post with another Instagram post, this time expressing thanks for her family’s safety and detailing the devastation she observed.

She left a message, expressing her gratitude for her family and pets’ escape last night before it was too late, as well as her endless gratitude to friends who took us in and brought us clothes and blankets. “Honestly, I’m in shock and feel numb for all that so many have lost, including my family.”

She went on, “My kids’ school is no longer there. Our favorite eateries have been flattened. Numerous friends and loved ones have also suffered significant losses. Despite the broken state of our community, we will unite to restore it. We are extending our love to all those impacted and actively striving to manage this situation effectively.

Moore had earlier stated on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday that she and her family had left and had no idea if their home had survived.

“I’m praying for everyone in our wonderful city. I’m very sorry for the devastation and loss.” Moore said, holding a photo of herself sitting with her son Ozzie, “I’m not sure if our place made it.”

“I’m grateful for the compassion of friends who gave us a place to stay last night. Moore expressed his desire to protect the children from the overwhelming sorrow and anxiety he was experiencing.

The actress resides with her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, 39, and their three children, August “Gus” Harrison, Oscar “Ozzie” Bennett, 2, and three-month-old Louise Everett. Tens of thousands of residents, including them, had to flee their homes.

Moore had just finished a six-year restoration of their property.

The actress frequently discussed her love of interior design and the development of her house project on social media, including an update saying it was nearly finished and would be receiving final touches in February 2023. Moore’s previous home in Pasadena, California, appeared on the cover of Architectural Digest in 2018.

The Eaton fire, which devastated Moore’s neighborhood, started on Tuesday, January 7. By late Wednesday morning, it had spread to 10,000 acres.

Several people have died as the Eaton and other flames continue to burn around Los Angeles.

Several well-known figures are among the more than 80,000 persons affected.

Cameron Mathison, Heidi Montag, and Spencer Pratt all reported total damage to their homes.

Mathison, a soap star, released a sorrowful video on Instagram showing the remnants of his house. “We’re safe.” But this is what’s left of our once beautiful home. “Our home, where our children were raised and where they hoped to raise their own someday,” he said beneath the image.

“Thank you to everyone who reached out and checked in.” I can’t respond to everyone, so I wanted to provide an update here,” he said. “I am sending so many prayers to everyone being affected by these fires.”
